When was the last time we thanked God for our legs? I woke up this morning and did a lot of things first without acknowledging God's amazing grace. I got dressed, went to morning prayer, ate breakfast, went to class, studied for exams, and went to dance practice. As I sit here and type this, I realized that, after a whole day of activity and movement, I hadn't thanked God once for the ability to stand on my own two legs. To pace quickly across this wide campus from class to class. To run freely and without care. To dance gracefully across the dance floor. To jump over potholes. To trip up staircases. To bring me to this moment in front of my screen. God is so good, even when we neglect to give Him praise for His creation: ourselves. We are a walking masterpiece that contains more than just sinew and bones, but also a vibrant and intimate Spirit that causes us to long for a relationship with the Father. Our very nature is to worship, but often times we put it aside to embrace the cacophony of this world. Our instruments of choice can be work, success, relationships, hobbies, etc., that cause us to draw further and further away from bringing our worship before God. Let us yearn for God. Let us deeply depend on Him for our very next breath, our next decision, our next step. Let our hearts and minds be in awe of God from the very first moment we open our eyes and see a new day. For the Lord is good in all His ways. Amen. "For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever." (Psalm 86:10-12)
